Ebenezer Scroooooooge!

Today is my last day of work before Christmas.  I am like a little kid about to get out of school, I am soooo excited!

We had our Annual Holiday Walk at work this past Monday.  And for the FOURTH year in a row, the Program Policy, Planning and Evaluation Section took the prize for best decorations!  Not only that it was a clean sweep, for the first year we took tops honors for food too!  We had orginally thought we needed to steer away from the movie theme but when it came time to decided what to do this year (and the pressure was on us cause the rest of the building has come to expect something good) all we come up with was The Christmas Carol.  So we ran with it and used the George C. Scott version as our model.  As usual, we worked during our lunch hour and used only items that people had around their house, so there was little to no cost involved (except for the food).  It is amazing actually what people have...we were able to put together Christmas Past (Fezziwig's), Christmas Present (our food table) and Christmas Yet to Come (the graveyard) as well as comingle details for DVR past, DVR present and DVR future.  You'll notice the grave below for CATS, that is the name of our current case management system which is about to get replaced next month with a new system called BEAM (represented by the spotlight on the graveyard).  And that VR manual down below that we put out in the past is from 1947!  How cool! To really top it off, some of us dressed up as characters.  I was the Ghost of Christmas Past, LaShawn was Christmas Present and Mac, our Chief of Policy was Scrooge.  However, the best was Phil, PPPE Section Chief who dressed up as Jacob Marley:

I think Phil put us over the edge for the win.  And of course, though I don't have a picture we had the movie playing on a big screen. As you can see we take it very seriously and it is getting to the point where people expect something big from us, in fact they started asking over a month ago what our plan was for this year (didn't know yet).  And this puts the pressure on for NEXT year!  But really and truly it is all fun for us and win or lose we enjoy doing it.
