Howdy from the Farm!

So much to update you all on this Monday morning (probably Monday evening by the time I get this finished)! In fact, I had to make a list of topics for the next few posts so that I would not forget anything. So without further ado…
The Farm! Katherine had a wonderful time Saturday morning. The weather was unexpectedly cloudy and cool but ended up being just right for a few hours of running around. Clearly the favorite part of her morning was the slide, which she went down more than half a dozen times and each time would hit the bottom and say “gin!”, and grab someone’s hand to go with her yet again (you have to be four years old to go down all by yourself). So there were trips down with Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa and Grandma. This picture is quickly becoming a family favorite…
More pictures are coming in the upcoming album to be sent out (I am working on it; the pictures were uploaded last night). There was also general exploring around the place. There was definitely more for Katherine to do this year than last year, of course it does help that she can walk this year. She said hello to the animals, tried maneuvering her way through the hay bale maze, spent some time (of course!) on the swings, took a peek in the teepee and played in the big sandbox. This provided the one “moment” of the morning as Katherine felt that any sand toy she even remotely eyed was “mine!” We had to remove her from the sandbox as the concept of sharing with others was not sinking in and I was not ok with her grabbing toys out of other children’s hands. Her recovery was quite quick as we headed straight over to the hayride. She loved the hayride, not too long, not too short and a stop at the Pumpkin Patch included! Decisions...decisions...Each of us picked out a pumpkin, and then we got back in the hay wagon for a short ride over to the front of the farm. This provided an opportunity for a quick family photo.
I thought Miss K. would be quite tuckered out and would fall asleep in the car on the way home (Grandma was on “Keep K. Awake” duty) but she was happily sharing animal crackers with Grandma and chattering away. In fact, it took a bit for her to fall asleep for her nap but when she did, she slept soundly. That little body was tired from such a busy morning.
