Katherine's big girl bed arrived this weekend! Actually, its more like Mom and Dad had time to go over and pick it up. We've started with a very basic mattress and boxspring set for her room. I also have
this headboard picked out from LLBean, which we hope to get in a few months. Miss K. was very excited about her new bed, it was all I could do to keep her off of it while I put on the mattress pad, sheets and blankets. I was hoping to get a nice picture of everything all made up but Katherine literally jumped right in as soon as it was ready to go. The picture above is from this morning after I made the bed.

As you can see there was no missing the crib/toddler bed around here! Speaking of which, when that was purchased my Dad took one for the team by riding home lying on top of the box and crib mattress in back of their Subaru Outback (he reported that the mattress was rather comfortable, aside from the plastic it was covered with). Unfortunately no pictures exist because he hopped out before Ted could get downstairs with the camera. This time around it was my turn. I expected the store would have to tie the back of the CR-V closed however, the guy loading said it would fit all the way as long as I was willing to drive in the dashboard. Ok, except he wasn't kidding..."I need a couple more inches!" My knees were right against the steering wheel. Thank goodness I went to pick up the mattress set and not Ted, we would have been in trouble. Check this out:

Ok, there is a picture of me actually sitting in the car but since I'm not liking the way that picture turned out, you'll just have to imagine me sitting there all scrunched up, driving home. Good thing it was backroads the majority of the way. You can see the mattress set right behind the seat. It was a good thing no one was with me either, check out the passenger seat, that's where the box for the bed frame went. Poor person would have been really uncomfortable. But hey, $40 for delivery saved!

Congrats to Kate!
I think that I need to teach you how to shrink a picture in Photoshop before you post it. You're posting enormous photos.
