The Triangle woke up to this weather forecast this morning. There's a snow storm coming! This was originally forecast for today and not really as a major event. Things have changed in 24 hours. Oh and to quote the forecast: THE GREATEST RISK OF HEAVY SNOW WILL BE IN THE CORRIDOR BETWEEN HIGHWAY ONE AND INTERSTATE 95. Yup, that would be where our house is (we're just east of Raleigh, just inside that purple area on the map above)! As I've mentioned before, snow is a once in a while type occurance around here, we usually get one or two storms a year. And let me tell you you've never seen a group of people panic until you've seen a bunch of Southerners react to a few flakes of snow (sorry to those of you who are reading this but you know its true). It might as well be krytonyte because the whole place SHUTS DOWN. Part of this is out of necessity, there's little, if any snow removal equipment around. So even a couple of inches cripples the area. Stores will be packed today as people stock up on the essentials. Schools will probably all cancel classes tonight, this will probably include K's daycare. As state employees, Ted and I will probably take an adverse weather day. Our street will not be plowed (people would laugh at the suggestion!) and no one around here can drive in the stuff so its best to just stay put.
We'll keep you posted!

Good luck, hopefully it turns out to be no big deal at all. We just got about a foot yesterday between the two storms and I can tell you I am done!! :)
yeah...my back definitely tells me that the snowbank on our front lawn is taller then I am....that would be at least 6 feet....ahhh..to have the days of 3-6 in snowstorms twice a year again!!
